Paralegal

Conveyancing paralegal required to join our established solicitor client in Loughton. In your role as conveyancing paralegal, you will possess experience as a legal secretary working within conveyancing and looking for your next move with the progression to a paralegal or fee earner role. It is essential that you possess excellent typing skills, can handle multiple tasks working the deadlines whilst remaining calm as you will be providing administration support to the solicitors with all types of new build conveyancing and ideally have knowledge of help to buy scheme.

The Role

  • Draft, transcribe, word-process, type, and prepare same for issue as necessary
  • Enter back-up record of key dates in the firm's central diary, monitor diary notes and inform of forthcoming events and deadlines as appropriate.
  • Dealing with new, current and former clients by telephone, email and in person, take messages, dealing with basic enquiries and make appointments.
  • Liaising with accounts department on completion of matters to check account is clear
  • Closing files on completion, schedule and archiving
  • Liaise with client, lenders and other third parties as required
  • Ensure that clients are, to the best of your ability, kept satisfied at all times and to resolve any concerns promptly and courteously, reporting them as formal complaints for investigation when relevant.
  • Assist as necessary with other duties commensurate with the post e.g. filing, photocopying, faxing etc.
  • Reviewing proof of funds being contributed to show consistency to lifestyle and age.
  • Preparing contract, completion statements, registration of purchases and bills and applying for searches papers
  • Communicating with clients, agents and other parties.

The Person

  • Must possess Legal secretary experience gained within conveyancing
  • CILEX Level 3 - Legal Secretarial course
  • Practical experience of handling client enquiries both by telephone and face to face.
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Ideally have knowledge of the Help to Buy scheme
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst managing numerous tasks
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
  • Ensuring high level client care
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
