The role also involves line management of a Finance Officer.

As the Donor Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing financial risks, maintaining the fraud register, conducting investigations, and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Reviewing and approving budget amendments, financial reports from partners, and signing off on payment projections.
  • Acting as the primary contact for overseeing the financial management of programmes in countries across Africa, South America and Asia.
  • Providing financial literacy training and due diligence for several partners, offering tailored support based on their capacity and needs.
  • Managing restricted and unrestricted grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
  • Mentoring and supporting a Finance Officer in their personal and professional development to enhance their financial management skills.

This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, based in London, allowing you to work from home three days a week. You will also benefit from a competitive pension scheme, generous annual leave, and access to wellbeing programmes.

The ideal Donor Finance Manager will:

  • Be a qualified Accountant or possess substantial relevant experience.
  • Have experience working within an international charity, or possess strong internal audit experience in charities with complex funding streams.
  • Have a solid understanding of working with multiple donors and navigating their financial requirements.
  • Be proficient in Excel and experienced in managing multi-currency accounts.
  • Have previous line management experience or be keen to develop these skills.
