Procurement Manager

JOB PURPOSE: The procurement manager, working with internal departments and budget holders, ensures that the goods and services provided to the business align with commercial, strategic and customer needs, expected quality standards and value, regulatory compliance and ESG requirements.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development and implementation of H&T Groups procurement and vendor management framework, ensuring strong governance and alignment with business objectives. Design and implement procurement strategies, leading end to end strategic and tactical sourcing, collaborating with relevant business areas and leaders to achieve optimum outcomes for stakeholders. Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with third-party suppliers across all business areas, ensuring value for money and risk mitigation. Deliver exceptional internal stakeholder service, managing the procurement processes within H&Ts risk appetite, obtaining best value alongside an appropriate level of risk. Identify and drive cost efficiency and cost avoidance opportunities with the business to deliver improvements, adding measurable value to the business. Stay abreast of latest procurement best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement lifecycle at H&T. Ensure the governance and processes are in place throughout the procurement lifecycle to control H&T's compliance with regulations and ESG requirements, actively supporting sustainable procurement as an integral part of H&T ESG strategy. Oversee procurement risk management including the identification, monitoring and reporting of risks and controls, escalating matters as required.
  • ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Technical: Strong understanding of procurement regulations, contract law, and supplier risk management. Experience developing and executing procurement strategies, policies and plans in a large organisation.
  • Skills: 8+ years experience in procurement with at least 3 at managerial level Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) Analytical and problem-solving skills including delivering as part of business change projects Commercial awareness and financial skills Strong time management and delivery skills Ability to work in pressured situations, managing multiple deliverables and driving results Fluent in English
  • DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Relevant professional qualification(s) Experience in the financial services or retail sectors
