Our client is the national body for careers education in England, supporting schools and colleges to deliver modern, impactful careers education. They operate in a dynamic, collaborative environment, united by a passion for helping young people succeed.

Role Summary:

The Research Manager will play a key role in advancing our client's parental engagement strategy, a crucial component in shaping effective careers education. This role involves leading the development of a parent questionnaire tool, building on previous exploratory research, and supporting the enhancement of parental engagement through evidence-based strategies.

The Research Manager will manage a year-long project, conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, and collaborating with internal experts and external stakeholders. This includes exploring ways to integrate parent data collection into existing careers infrastructure, with potential national scaling in collaboration with the Data & Digital Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Evaluation: Manage the development and implementation of the parent questionnaire, leading desk research, qualitative studies, and survey design.
  • Relationships & Influence: Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, becoming an expert on parent data and ensuring insights are valuable and accessible.
  • Project Management: Oversee project delivery, ensuring alignment with related workstreams and sustainable integration into our client's broader strategy.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Experience in social impact evaluations and mixed methods research.
  • Strong skills in survey design, qualitative research, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the English education system and career guidance.
  • Experience with parental and SEND audience engagement.
