SEND Teaching Assistants

The Role:

Remedy Education are working with an amazing SEN school based in Bexleyheath who are looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team. You will support students' academic, social, and emotional development, working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals in partner schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored lessons for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) under the guidance of teachers.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers.
  • Support students during school activities, outings, and events.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support student needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEND practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
