Salary: £57,991

BRC are working with a Housing Association who are recruiting for a new Development Manager on a permanent basis. This is a great time to join following a period of change. You will report directly into the Head of Investment, Development and Partnerships and have a team of 3 project managers and an assistant project manager reporting into you.

You will oversee a capital budget of £50+ million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Investment, Development & Partnerships to manage the delivery of a high quality mixed tenure, land led, package deals, new build and regeneration programme, maintaining a pipeline of development opportunities to support sustainable growth and achievement of our strategic objectives.
  • Further develop and implement the Development strategies ensuring customers have "Great Homes" that are fit for the future.
  • Manage the reduction of carbon footprint in their properties.
  • Instil a high performance culture to drive quality, value for money and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Role Specifications:

  • Must have social housing experience!
  • Degree level standard education and/or relevant professional qualification/or experience (e.g. RICS/RTPI/CIOH/RIBA/CIOB)
  • Relevant and proven experience in a development role or related property field or alternatively applicable senior project management experience within Social Housing
  • Knowledge of new build development principles and the ability to apply them within an organisation.
  • Proven experience of providing clear, informed and objective advice on relevant strategic issues.
  • Proven experience of developing strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, establishing strategic partnerships and leading change programmes.
  • Proven experience of successfully leading and managing people, developing successful, cohesive and high performing teams and leading change.
  • Knowledge of the design and the construction of housing and the associated planning legislation and process
  • Knowledge of different types of building procurement methods and contracts
  • Knowledge of appropriate industry legislation
  • Leads by example, prepared to get involved but trusts the team to deliver with guidance
  • Open to collaboration and partnership working with a keen interest in other functions outside of own directorate.
