Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with special needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils with additional needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are fully included in all aspects of school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to engage in classroom activities.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs.
  • Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with their emotional, social, and physical needs, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Monitor and record pupils' progress, communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging their social interaction and engagement in school activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with children who have special needs (essential).
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable).
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
