Job description
- To act as a lead for structural engineering projects and provide input to building and civil engineering projects through feasibility, detailed design and construction management stages to meet the objectives of Powys County Council in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- You will be responsible for a team of approximately 8no Structural Engineers and Technicians working on a broad range of structural engineering projects across the county of Powys.

- The structures team forms a key part of Powys County Council's Engineering Design Services team which employs around 50 enthusiastic and dedicated staff, comprising academically and professionally qualified engineers, technicians, and ecologists.
- You will act as the structures lead, managing and motivating staff and providing your expertise upon a range of building and highways civil engineering projects, and delivering a portfolio of schemes to programme and budget.

ou will:
be a chartered civil or structural engineer.
have significant experience of structural building and highway structures engineering design.
have a good working knowledge of the relevant; DMRB standards, codes of practice, NEC contracts, as well as H&S and environmental legislation .
have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
have an ability to manage a team with conflicting priorities and be self-motivated.
be a team player and have a desire to develop and mentor your team.
