SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities? Are you an inspirational Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity? Can you make a positive impact in supporting young people and children? Are you enthusiastic about working as a Teaching Assistant in a school with challenging pupils?

Randstad Education is currently collaborating with specialist schools in Liverpool, supporting children and young people with various Special Educational Needs. We are looking to recruit passionate, confident, and patient Teaching Assistants to work alongside young people with a wide range of Special Needs as soon as possible. This term-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to join a committed department, with the potential to secure a permanent role within the school. You will be working with children and young people with diverse Special Educational Needs, including CLD, PMLD, SLD, ADHD, and Autism. Previous experience working in schools or with young people is desirable but not essential.

This role is initially offered on a contract basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. This is a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible for the remainder of the academic year in an SEN setting.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with children and young people with various Special Educational Needs, including Autism and ADHD. The school is looking for a confident, creative, eager, and resilient behaviour mentor who can build positive learning relationships with young people.

  • Previous experience working in schools with SEN pupils is desirable
  • Patient, passionate, and professional
  • Deliver lessons across a range of classes
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to students
  • Confident, punctual, and eager
  • Plan lessons using the P Scales curriculum
  • Build positive learning relationships with SEN pupils
  • Available to start as soon as possible
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including MLD, PMLD, SLD, ADHD, and Physical Disabilities
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
