SEND Teaching Assistant

Horizon Teachers are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant with experience in behavioural difficulties to work in a Bramley SEND school. The setting is an alternative provision for children aged 11-16 years old, that have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. They are looking for an experienced SEN TA that has fantastic communication skills and a kind and approachable demeanour.

They are a well-regarded provision that goes to great effort to ensure the comfort of all students in their care. The school works hard to ensure that all SEN children in the classes have the support that they need physically, emotionally and mentally to allow them to maximize their potential and achieve over and beyond their own expectations.

The ideal person will have:

  • Previous experience with children that have Special Needs is essential.
  • The ability to establish relationships and build trust with students.
  • Self-motivation and a positive outlook.
  • A strong and assertive individual who can manage difficult behaviour.

What does the job entail?

  • You will be working closely with students who have various mental health needs.
  • You will be responsible for providing the student with the necessary help and attention to assist their education.
  • Helping the student develop their functional skills and push forward to achieve their potential in their education.
