Interim Project Manager - FP&A Transformation

Protiviti, the global management consultancy are seeking an experienced Interim Project Manager to lead the successful implementation of a cutting-edge Performance Management Tool within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function of a leading asset management firm. This critical role demands a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of FP&A processes, performance management systems, and the ability to drive change in a dynamic and complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end implementation of the performance management tool, ensuring alignment with the client's strategic objectives and FP&A requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior stakeholders across the business, including finance, operations, and IT, to ensure smooth communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Process Optimisation: Work closely with the FP&A team to understand existing processes, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to optimise performance management and reporting capabilities.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to ensure timely delivery of the tool, manage contracts, and oversee quality assurance.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive change management strategy to ensure seamless adoption of the new tool by the FP&A team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Training & Support: Organise and facilitate training sessions for the FP&A team, providing ongoing support to ensure the tool is fully integrated into daily operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure the project remains on track, within scope, and budget.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the senior leadership team on project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Extensive experience in project management, ideally with a focus on implementing performance management tools within financial services or asset management.
  • FP&A Expertise: In-depth understanding of FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with performance management software (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, SAP BPC) and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in an interim role, quickly understanding the client's environment and delivering results within tight timelines.
