Area Sales Manager - ATV & Marine South East & Northern Ireland

Role:

Honda (UK) Power Equipment requires an individual who can effectively manage our relationship with our ATV & Marine equipment dealers in the South East and Northern Ireland.

T he principal responsibility for this role is to achieve our agreed Power Products commercial objectives through effective management and motivation of our dealer network partners. These include unit sales, parts sales, customer satisfaction levels and the implementation of a variety of dealer support programmes.

The role is likely to entail extensive travel within the area and UK more broadly with frequent overnight stays.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets through specific action plans agreed with each dealership and by planning and implementing countermeasures when there is a risk to achieving targets.
  • Accurately forecasting monthly sales by dealer and by model type.
  • Manage and motivate our franchised dealer staff to consistently provide Honda customers with excellent customer service and to drive continual improvement through targeted dealer actions.
  • Improve the Honda profile in our multi-franchise network and constantly ensuring Honda is a front of mind with dealer staff.
  • Implementing our corporate identity strategy by ensuring all dealers use Honda branded CI.
  • Increase Honda and dealer profitability by growing the Honda Boat Builder Alliance network and helping dealers to retail boat packages.
  • Grow Honda ATV & Marine sales in the area by helping dealers to plan their marketing and sales activity, by coaching, training, ensuring that they maintain a representative range of stock.
  • Ensure the continued development of your area by improving existing dealer standards and developing new dealers to improve your area sales.
  • Liaise, plan and assist with local promotions and shows to promote dealers within the area.
  • Provide the primary personal link between the dealer network and Honda creating a proactive working environment and partnership with our dealers.
  • Manage your time autonomously in order to allow adequate time for admin, keep your diary up to date and to ensure dealers are visited within a reasonable frequency.

Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable
Required

  • Ambitious with a high level of drive for continual achievement of targets. The successful candidate will also be determined, resilient and strongly self-motivated whilst possessing well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing sales growth.
  • Capability to challenge and negotiate at a Dealer Principal level.
  • Capacity to develop a detailed understanding of both the ATV and Marine market.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well organised and able to work to deadlines and targets without close supervision.
  • Understanding of dealership operations.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable

  • Ability to implement measurable improvement plans, following TQM (Total Quality Management) processes such as PDCA.
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Office programmes including Teams, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Good analytical skills with high levels of accuracy to provide quality data to others.
