This role will initially be a 23-month fixed-term contract and based in our Manchester office where we offer a hybrid-approach to working.

**What you'll do as an Interaction Designer

  • research, design and test clear, usable and inclusive ways for citizens to interact with our digital services
  • map and examine user journeys to develop appropriate designs that meet user needs
  • prototype design ideas using appropriate tools at different fidelities
  • design inclusive ways for all users to achieve their goals regardless of their access needs
  • work closely with service designers, user researchers,, and developers to build services that solve the whole problem for a user
  • take part in designing and conducting user research to develop, test and iterate multiple design ideas
  • follow the GOV.UK Design system, the Service Manual and the GOV.UK Style guide
  • have a deep understanding of the design components and patterns in the different services
  • experience of designing clear and usable interfaces that meet user needs
  • experience of using Figma or similar tools to develop, illustrate and test new experience journeys
  • experience of designing inclusive services that meet a wide range of access needs
  • experience of working closely with others in multidisciplinary teams to collaboratively develop, test and iterate multiple design ideas
  • confident in giving and receiving constructive feedback on user centred design ideas
  • adept at leading collaborative design activities
  • experience planning and doing continuous user research in a multidisciplinary team will be essential, as will the experience of involving your team in research activities, analysis, and synthesis

**What we're looking for
