Title: Building Manager

Location: East London

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

Our client is a national property management group, based in East London. Due to the continued growth of the company, they are looking for a Building Manager to join the expanding team.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall security of the development by regular patrols of all internal and external areas.
  • Cleaning of each common parts staircase once a week and thorough clean once every two weeks.
  • Remove any rubbish from common parts to bin area. Report any dumping to managing agent.
  • Record and report any security / health and safety issues to the managing agent.
  • Record and report any incidents or complaints to the managing agent.
  • Safekeeping of keys on behalf of residents and the estate. Recording at all times the signing in and out of keys.
  • Issuing of keys only to the correct personnel / residents.
  • Receiving and safekeeping of all parcels / registered mail. Assisting residents with distribution of resident material in the development from time to time - e.g. Neighbourhood Watch.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the managing agent. Record those issues in a log book and see them through to completion.
  • Liaise with residents for access for managers contractors to carry out maintenance where required.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all people in the development at all times.
  • Report any accidents to the managing agent and record in the accident book.
  • Daily check and change any light bulbs and alter time clocks as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times concerning the residents.
  • Inspect common areas - daily - safety, cleanliness, security (particularly 'streetfacing' doors)
  • Inspect and replace light bulbs as required
  • Remove unclaimed mail, mark 'return to sender' and return to Post Office.
  • Maintain grounds in clean and tidy condition

Role Requirements

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and be well presented with a professional appearance.
  • Fire safety training
  • Good organisational skills and are willing to be flexible and assist with a variety of different tasks within the department.
