Business analyst

Head Resourcing are looking for a business analyst for a company who operate within investment management. The role involves analysing and understanding business requirements, primarily but not exclusively focusing on the Charles River Investment Management System. In return you will receive a salary of £75k - £90k, the role can be based in either London or Edinburgh 3 days per week on site and does not offer sponsorship.

The day to day of the role includes:

  • The candidate must demonstrate expert knowledge of the Charles River trading platform, support advanced business users, and deliver training to new joiners. This includes:
  • System Support: Provide technical support and assistance to users of the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) software. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system functionality, configuration, and integration with other systems.
  • System configuration: Configuring the trading platform interfaces, permissions and workflow rules; Analysing multi asset workflow including Equity, Bond, Money Market, FX and Derivative processing (including knowledge of those asset types); Demonstrating good understanding of order management and trade execution workflows including FIX and 3rd party integration within CRIMS
  • User Training: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on the features, functionality, and best practices of the Charles River platform. Develop training materials, user guides, and documentation to support user learning and adoption.
  • System Upgrades and Enhancements: Coordinate and facilitate system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in collaboration with IT and vendor support teams. Designing test plans and managing the testing process; Test new releases and updates to ensure compatibility and functionality.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and analyse reported issues or errors, identify root causes, and implement solutions or workarounds. Escalate complex issues to vendor support or development teams as needed and follow up to ensure timely resolution.

Skills required

  • Eliciting business requirements to document, design, implement and demonstrate proof of concept products and processes;
  • Designing technical specifications to enable the implementation of system changes;
  • Collaborating with the Development team and key business stakeholders to implement approved changes and co-ordinating change releases;
  • Contributing to the improvements to the product lifecycle processes across the firm;
  • Managing strong business relationships with key vendors and stakeholders; and
  • Contributing to the creation of informative and repeatable reporting.
  • Strong SQL proficiency;
