Core Hours: Mon - Fri 08:45-17:00

Our client is one of the UK leading utility suppliers, servicing a large number of customers in England, Scotland & Wales. As part of the Technical Engineering Team, you will hold joint responsibility for maintenance projects across the UK.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to be field based (average 3 nights away per week) attending operational sites and customer locations around the UK.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must have a full UK driving license, be flexible to nights away and overtime if required.
A company vehicle is provided.

As the Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include;

  • Attending to the general maintenance of sites; including pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, piping, EC&I and pneumatic equipment
  • Carrying out statutory examinations and inspections.
  • Completing infrastructure projects
  • Managing and escalating operational and/or regulatory risks
  • Promptly investigating and reporting any incidents
  • Consistently working to legislative and company standards.
  • Keeping the asset database up to date
  • Contributing to process and functional safety through utilisation of various assessments.
  • Aiding progress by recommending approaches, processes and procedures.
  • Continuously maintaining a strong knowledge of industry best practices and completing necessary training as required

As the successful Maintenance Engineer, you will have the following skills/experience;

  • Experience within both mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • CompEx qualification
  • Knowledge of PSSR, COMAH, ATEX, CDM
  • Practical understanding of process design, operation and installation
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to pick up new software quickly.
  • Initiative to work under your own direction.
  • Ability to make quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks.
  • Confidence communicating and explaining complex scenarios to non-technical colleagues.
