Programme Support Officer

The role requires an enthusiastic support, who is keen to learn, who can work independently across multiple projects at any one time, update and analyse spreadsheets, produce reports, chase external stakeholders for information, plan and prepare meetings and events, take minutes, raise orders and invoices, monitor budgets, routinely keep project information and records up to date, understand and follow corporate policies and processes.

Successful applicants will need to be: team players who are flexible and capable of working with minimal supervision; well organised with the ability to plan and deliver a varied workload; highly capable and well-motivated; excellent communicators. They will also need to have strong interpersonal skills and have excellent attention to detail.

This is a wonderful temp to contract role .
You will ideally have experience working in local government or councils but this is not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to come into the office twice a week.
They are looking for someone with previous admin/programme support experience who is enthusiastic, proactive and has initiative to resolve issues that may arise.

Core Accountabilities:
1. Organise and support meetings, events and functions
2. Maintain and continuously improve administrative systems, including forward/project plans, electronic filing systems, CRM mailing lists and databases.
3. Produce reports, briefings and information sheets and update the website and portal.
4. Arrange room bookings, refreshments, printing, copying, distribution, travel and other administrative tasks in support of the team and/or lead members.
5. Contribute to the delivery of the team's agreed objectives.
6. Participate in relevant projects that support the Business Plan.
7. Model the company's values and work in accordance with health and safety, equal opportunities and environmental policies.
8. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.

Specific Accountabilities:
1. Provide comprehensive support to the Workforce, Leadership and Productivity function in the delivery of local government support, leadership and localism, productivity and research and information.
2. Support the resourcing of peer support including the recruitment, accreditation, placement, performance review and development of member and officer peers from local government and the wider public sector, liaising with the lead member peers and the political group offices,

establishing positive working relations with peers and contributing to the development of streamlined processes.
3. Provide administrative/project support to peer challenges and support colleagues to manage peer support programmes e.g. fire peer challenge programme.
4. Contribute to the networking opportunities for Workforce, Leadership and Productivity and assist in providing direct support to councils and their partners, and groups of councils
5. Provide comprehensive support in delivering improvement and leadership programmes. Assist the support for local government in the development, commissioning and delivery of services.
6. Assist with preparation of briefings.
7. Undertake and support projects and programmes, developing and maintaining project milestone plans and information systems, preparing agendas and papers and co-ordinating monthly updates.
8. Manage orders and invoices, expenses, and sickness reporting in line with agreed finance and HR procedures on behalf of the team.
9. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.
