About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will bring expertise in electrical design for a variety of industrial applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. This pivotal role supports the design team in developing innovative solutions that meet customer specifications and drive new market applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Requirements Review: Collaborate with the engineering team to review design requirements and provide technical guidance on designs, including material specifications.
- Design Calculations: Produce detailed design calculations and associated documentation for the manufacturing of designs, including resistor element and design overview sheets.
- Documentation: Generate and approve technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other necessary design documents for equipment manufacturing.
- Technical Investigations: Conduct thorough technical investigations, develop and maintain robust design support processes, perform root cause analysis, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to Production, Sales, Service, and Customer Support teams.
- Project Management: Deliver projects on schedule and within budget, managing a complex range of projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Standards Compliance: Understand and apply relevant design, regulatory, and industry standards throughout the design process.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Several years of hands-on design experience in electrical engineering, particularly in industrial applications.
- Technical Skills: Strong grasp of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles. Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant design and regulatory standards in the electrical engineering industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with design and implementation of industrial electrical equipment.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or a professional engineering license.
- Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools.
- Medium and high voltage design experience.
