Senior Network Engineer - Firewall Assurance - Hybrid - Inside IR35
Our client are currently looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer with experience of Firewall Assurance to join the team on a hybrid working contract basis.
This is a technical role in which you will be working within a highly skilled & established team of engineers. The role involves resolving highly complex network / system faults as well as designing and implementing changes on existing customer networks for network improvements. You will be working across a broad range of firewall network technologies including but not limited to Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco and Juniper.
Responsibilities include:
- Co-coordinating the legacy and unused firewall polices with CISO and service excellence.
- Identify, liaise, and manage any escalations from CISO related to but not limited to major incidents, threats, or cyber concerns.
- Adhere to strict Service Level Agreements for firewall as detailed in the TSS firewall remediation process.
- Ensure that the CISO office is kept informed of the progress of all requests and the associated firewalls are completed within the SLA's agreed.
- All internal documentation is kept updated and handed over to BAU teams as required.
- All changes follow the correct change process (ITIL standard) and are done within the set SLA's.
- Can understand complex LLD's / HLD's and apply this knowledge to the firewall activity.
- Will work independently and efficiently to a detailed remediation plan that they will be responsible for producing and presenting to leadership on a regular basis.
- Priorities critical risks and call these out if not picked up by the CISO led process.
- Will work with vendors including but not limited to Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto and checkpoint as and when required to support remediation work.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in network security on but not limited to ASA's, Fortinet, Netscreen etc.
- Able to self-manage while working as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills
- 3+ years working as a senior engineer with firewalls.
As the ideal candidate, you will be technically skilled and hold certification for two or more from the list below and across two different vendors:
- Checkpoint Certified System Administrator (R81.20 preferred) CCSA
- Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (R81.20 preferred) CCSE
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- CCNP Security 350-701 SCOR (+ one of these concentration exams 300-710 SNCF 300-715 SISE 300-720 SESA 300-725 SWSA 300-730 SVPN 300-735 SAUTO 300-740 SCAZT)
- Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate (200-201 CBROPS)
