A well-renowned firm in East London with a strong presence across the UK is seeking a Mixed Tax Senior to join their team. The role involves a blend of 60% corporate tax returns and 40% private client work. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional to support Client Directors in delivering technically excellent tax advice and to develop and maintain strong client relationships, creating new business opportunities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare accurate corporate and personal tax returns, including supporting schedules and computations, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct Capital Allowances reports/analysis for audit clients and prepare P11Ds for business clients.
  • Assist in tax planning initiatives for corporate clients to minimise tax liabilities and optimise tax efficiency, including R&D, employee share schemes, and EIS/SEIS applications/implementation.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through excellent service and communication.
  • Research complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations to colleagues.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure all work is compliant with current regulations.
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and assist with enquiries into corporate tax returns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in corporate and personal tax within an accountancy practice.
  • Knowledge of property tax would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of corporate and personal tax principles, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Iris software (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Graduate calibre with CTA or equivalent qualification preferred but not essential.
