Job Title: Information Governance Officer

Location: Twickenham (1 Day a month in office)

  • Hourly rate From: £20.31 PAYE
  • Hourly rate To: £26.52 Umbrella
  • Contract Length: 6 months (possibility of extension)
  • Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 36 hours

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, across the organisation.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, review, and update information governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data handling processes are in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement appropriate measures to protect personal data, including data breach prevention and response plans.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practises in information governance.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data protection and information governance matters.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of information management systems.
  • Conduct audits to assess compliance with information governance policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external bodies, such as the Information Commissioner's Office, to handle data protection queries and concerns.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations, particularly GDPR.
  • Experience in conducting data protection impact assessments.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing information governance policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and sound analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with information management systems and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working in the public sector or local authority is highly desirable.
