Salary Range:

£38,000 - £42,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

At Micronclean, our IT team provides industry-leading technologies to meet the needs of our internal and external customers, including our own garment management software and various web solutions for customer interfaces. We're looking for a talented and passionate IT Operations Lead to join our IT team.

You will be part of a team of eight IT specialists who provide both hardware and software solutions. This role offers an opportunity to improve business efficiency and productivity through innovative and quality IT systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring the IT support team, providing coordination, guidance, and support for daily operations.
  • Proactively monitoring, managing, and maintaining all IT infrastructure and systems, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Leading the development and implementation of infrastructure and support projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives in line with the IT Strategy.
  • Performing regular system audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with evolving security standards.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop plans for infrastructure and support enhancements or implementations, prioritising regulatory and legislative changes.
  • Providing second- and third-line technical support and guidance to end-users, troubleshooting and resolving IT issues.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for infrastructure and support configurations, processes, and solutions.
  • Providing training and support to end-users to maximise system utilisation and efficiency.
  • Travelling to local production plants and occasional travel to other UK or international sites if required.

Core Skills

Essential:

  • Proficiency in managing and supporting enterprise server environments (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, IIS, RDS).
  • Proficiency in managing and supporting Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in managing and supporting backup and recovery systems (e.g., Veeam).
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with storage technologies (e.g., HP Nimble SAN, NAS).
  • Experience with network technologies (e.g., LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain excellence and deliver innovation.
  • Full UK/EU driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a related subject (e.g., Computer Science or STEM).
  • MCSA, MCSD, MCSE certification or other Microsoft role-based certifications.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • ITIL 4 certification.
  • Experience working with engineering devices (e.g., PLCs, IoT, AI cameras).
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Cyber Security Accreditations or Qualifications.
