A London-based Independent Art Advisory company specialising in the management and care of both modern and historic collections, with both a domestic and international client base of museums, private collections and heritage organisations, is seeking a Collections Manager on a fixed-term contract covering maternity leave for a period of at least 12 months.
This role would suit someone with previous experience in supporting a family office/HNWI in a role such as a PA/EA and who has an interest in auctions/arts/history. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, flexible, organised and diligent with a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key. Experience with cataloguing and research is desirable.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- managing conservation projects
- arranging domestic and international fine art transport and carriage
- updating collections management systems (Museum Plus)
- overseeing acquisitions and bidding at auction
- raising estimates and invoices
- managing insurance
- supporting the Director, and other related administration as required including office diary and travel management
- ad hoc projects e.g. office move
