We're recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a claims technician to join our London Market Specialty insurance client! The role

The Claims Technician, with moderate guidance, is responsible for initiating, directing, and controlling the activity in support of case management and the claims process in accordance with the company's best practices. The Claims Technician may be called upon to assist the Claims organisation with other responsibilities as requested by management.

What you will be doing:

Complete assigned daily claims support activities timely and accurately (whether as primary or backup role) according to the client's best practices.

This would include activities such as:

  • Triaging claims to correct handlers;
  • Providing acknowledgment letters to brokers;
  • Making indemnity payments; o Setting up expense payments;
  • Liaising with underwriters to provide details of losses on accounts;
  • Closing files;
  • Requesting updates on inactive files from brokers.
  • Maintain understanding of departmental service standards and guidelines, systems, workflows, reports, forms, products, and other information needed to complete work assignments.
  • Understand implications of the business environment including processes and technology to provide analysis and advice in area of expertise. Influence decisions on workflow and service standards within team to achieve the company's goals.
  • Stay abreast of changes in operational procedure and identify and communicate process enhancement opportunities to management that allow for service improvements and/or increasing efficiencies.

What we're looking for in you:

Ideally have experience in (re)insurance claims, but candidates with no claims or insurance experience will also be considered as long as they demonstrate a passion for claims Be educated to a minimum of A-Level standard or equivalent Demonstrate strong written and spoken communication skills in the English language Have good IT (Microsoft Office) skills, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and ability to use or learn our in-house systems Be a team player Possess strong independent organisational skills Be a self-starter with a positive and proactive attitude Be internally and externally customer focused, in particular to understand the importance of the quality, clarity and speed of service delivery.
