Job Description

In this role you will provide an in-house service responsible for the optimisation of the use of space within the estate by developing and implementing space processes and services for and on behalf of the Trust. You will identify and develop innovative and effective solutions to accommodation and space management challenges to ensure efficient utilisation of available space to meet short, medium and long term needs, and assist and advise the Trust in relation to accommodation issues.You will monitor and report on the utilisation of space and facilities within the Trust, proactively identify opportunities for improving utilisation levels as appropriate, as well as triage requests for space from across the Trust and delivering solutions through a well defined space and accommodation process. You will work as a member of the Capital and Commercial Team employed by NHFM that are essential for the successful delivery of capital projects and managing space utilisation.You will take responsibility for ensuring accurate records of drawings and occupation for the estate, and lead on client stakeholder management and relationship building, using high levels of cross-functional working to scope and deliver projects. You will contribute to Estate Strategy, concept stage designs, identifying innovative solutions, and working with professional consultants and/or internal teams where appropriate.

The Successful Applicant

  • A competent space utilisation professional with a background in at least one of architecture, interior design, building surveying, asset management, facilities or similar estates related discipline
  • A degree or accredited professional qualification or similar in one of Architecture, Building Surveying, Construction, Asset Management or related field.
  • NHS experience is preferred but not essential, a technical grounding with complex estates projects would be ideal, healthcare experience in some form of one of the disciplines is desired.
  • An excellent communicator at all levels, with knowledge design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino or Grasshopper.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholder management and manage complex situations, working across a range of departments with the objective of delivering specific capital projects from inception to completion.
  • A person who can see opportunities to overcome challenges, with good commercial insight and excellent and proactive communication skills.
