Central London - Hybrid 2 days pw office + 1 day travel (North UK sites)

The Role:

This role will work with the Operations team to drive business and financial performance of restaurants in the North region, supporting in the development of financial and non-financial targets to deliver strategic goals, and ensuring the Operations teams are held accountable to these targets. In addition, with their Risk and Loss Prevention Specialist, they will be responsible for ensuring a robust set of financial risk and control procedures are in place for their region. They will take national ownership for specific P&L lines and projects, and provide expert business insight to ensure costs are forecasted and controlled, and efficiencies are identified.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for operations in the North (specifically the Operations Director and Regional Managers); ensuring teams are held accountable to business KPIs through regular communication.
  • Drive operational excellence through providing and continually developing data driven commercial insight to drive growth.
  • Ensure that the understanding and use of tools such as labour scheduling and F&B management are embedded within the operation, continually identifying areas for cost efficiencies and commercial opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients to fully understand data content and enable accurate insight to be developed.
  • Provide finance and non-financial stakeholders (e.g. Operations Senior Management) with timely, accurate and insightful analysis of business performance, and be able to communicate key business insight to an Exec level audience.
  • Produce, develop and track a range of key performance indicators, including continual evolution of the company's Balanced Scorecard.
  • Improve business risk review scores by ensuring a strong system of internal financial control.
  • Ensure effective cash and margin control and ultimately drive compliance of company's policies and procedures.
  • Develop a programme of business risk audits and business improvement visits with the Risk and Loss Prevention specialist for the North, that is focused on the highest risk sites in the region.
  • Work with the wider Commercial Finance team to produce the annual budget and quarterly forecast, ensuring engagement of Operations in the process.
  • Act as finance lead within strategic commercial projects.

About You:

  • You will ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified, with post-qualified experience working at a similar level in commercial or operational finance/FP&A, or consulting.
  • 5+ years of finance business partner experience within a corporate environment, ideally within a hospitality, retail or FMCG business
  • Sound knowledge of business principles and processes relating to hospitality operations, employee training, HR legislation, financial admin procedures, systems, controls and risk areas.
  • Organised, self-starter who shows initiative and can work independently.
  • Ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts to prepare and present concise oral and written reports. Comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • Expert in Excel / PowerPoint.
