We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst Apprentice to join our team. In this development role, you will receive training in order to become responsible for carrying out business analysis activities, providing a high level of support to stakeholders across the business.

It's an exciting time to join whg as we move into delivery of our new and ambitious six-year plan which will take us to 2030. The role of the IT Business Analyst Apprentice will be critical in helping the business unlock the value of technology to achieve positive outcomes as driven by the plan.

As this is a development role, the right candidate will have a keen appetite for experience-based learning and development and will need to commit to completing a Level 4 Apprenticeship qualification in Business Analysis.

Main job responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with stakeholders to analyse elements of our business, defining requirements and identifying solutions to problems that result in delivery of value.
  • Analysis activities will include but not be limited to business systems, processes, services, and architectures.
  • You will identify and prioritise opportune process areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Validate identified requirements and solutions with key stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding.
  • Use and evaluate information from live usage including gathering feedback from end users to understand performance and identify further improvements.
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation and information such as cases, data analysis, process mapping and modelling.
  • Work within an Agile team and be open to change: adapting easily to new processes and procedures and coping with changing priorities and pressures.
  • Communicate at both a technical and non-technical level, using a range of communication methods including presentation skills to suit the subject matter and the audience. Understanding how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Use problem solving and analytical skills to assist the team to identify and remove obstacles.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team and business processes and provide advice and technical training where needed.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A commitment to undertake a Level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship course and qualification: Business analyst / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
  • A Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English (grade C or above).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate conversations, actively listen and playback information to colleagues.
  • An interest in and appetite for learning about business systems, processes and solving problems and keen to deliver excellent customer service.
  • You will have a confident and positive approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with difficult situations in an effective, professional, and respectful manner.
  • A positive attitude, along with the ability to use own initiative, managing own time and priorities.
