Accounts Assistant

We are looking for a diligent Accounts Assistant to join our client's friendly and supportive finance team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of transactional and ledger duties, contributing to the smooth operation of their financial processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Managing accounts payable: processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and handling payment queries.
- Overseeing accounts receivable: issuing invoices, processing receipts, and managing customer queries.
- Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with cash flow management.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing ledger entries.
- Assisting with month-end closing procedures and supporting the preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborating with the finance team to improve accounting systems and processes.
- Handling ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required by the finance team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable / Accounts Assistant type role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and transactional processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage ideally) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AAT study would be beneficial but is not essential.
