A national construction consultancy is seeking a Registered Building Inspector to lead their BSA Advisory team. They facilitate high-value master plans, universities and hospitals, and provide quarterly strategic advice, reflecting their client-lead rather than project-lead focus. Basic salary circa £70,000 - £90,000 plus bonus, competitive tailored package, with scope for progression.

Overview
- To lead the Building Regulations and BSA Principal Designer team, whilst contributing as part of the Design team.
- Initial focus and engagement with technical project and client delivery, expanding on internal processes, training standards etc - to be developed as the role evolves.

Responsibilities
Delivery of BSA / BR Principal Designer function for projects;
- Initial engagement with client running through their scope of work and how the project will be approached.
- Attend Building Control partner workshops and lead on behalf of the business.
- Track deliverables and production of monthly reports to clients.
- Conduct 1-2-1 technical review session s with Designers.
Internal polices, systems, training & approach;
- Lead the implementation and ultimate development of company policies, systems and training standards in respect to The Building Safety Act and related Building Regulations.
- Engage with and provide oversight in respect to the company's building control partners, and agree clear scopes for their work.
- Conduct regular catch ups across projects to ensure delivery of the correct service; set up and implement a project tracker to ensure the business is targetting compliance and scope.
- Support the business' Quality and Compliance Coordinator in relation to existing or future accreditations, providing input on strategy, templates and process.
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding new members of staff.
Support retained clients;
- Monthly retainers with architects, designers, contractors, developers.
- Monthly lunch and learns / tool-box talks for clients via teams or dropping into their office / site.
- Development of client management systems for Building Regulations compliance including:
- Training & CPD plan
- Statutory documentation and information requested by regulator through gateway programme
- Drop ins to client offices to offer Building Regulations project health check sessions.
