Overview: Business Development Manager - EV Charge Point Operators (CPO)

Hybrid WFH Model - 4 Days in office / 1 at home (Flexible)

Bonus / Commission Available if successful.

As a Business Development Manager (BDM) focusing on EV Charge Point Operators (CPO), you will be part of an innovative electronics engineering company. The primary objective is to enhance the company's presence in the EV charger market and industrial DC power supply sectors. Your key responsibilities will include identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and contributing to the company's overall growth and success.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development & Strategy Execution
  • Develop and execute a strategy to achieve sustainable sales growth in EV chargers and grid infrastructure across target markets.

  • Offer strategic advice on entering new markets or developing new products where appropriate, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  1. Client Relationship Management
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to identify new sales opportunities.

  • Manage existing customer accounts, handling both commercial and technical inquiries, and collaborating with internal departments to resolve issues efficiently.

  1. Contract & Tender Management
  • Lead and oversee contract reviews, tenders, and bid preparations to ensure the company submits competitive and winning proposals.
  1. Sales & Marketing Support
  • Assist in the creation of sales and marketing materials to enhance the promotion of the company's products.

  • Prepare and present compelling pitches that emphasize the value and benefits of the company's products and services.

  1. Market Intelligence & Feedback
  • Provide ongoing feedback to product development and commercial teams based on market trends, competitive analysis, and customer input.

  • Monitor industry trends and participate in relevant industry groups, exhibitions, and conferences to represent the company and identify new opportunities.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
  • Represent the company at key industry events, such as steering groups, trade exhibitions, and conferences, to network and establish industry connections.

Essential Training or Qualifications:

  • Level 4 or 5 equivalent qualification in Business Development, Account Management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in the industry or a similar role.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to create and execute long-term sales strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Tender Management: Proven success in managing and winning complex tenders.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing market data and sales performance to inform decision-making.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Proficiency: Skilled in financial modelling, proposal writing, and contract negotiation.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of addressing challenges effectively and identifying new opportunities.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to comprehend and explain technical details of products to both technical and non-technical audiences.
