Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Governance team, focusing on credit risk management operations.
  • Collaborate with the Director/Vice President of Regulatory and Policy Management function to support their needs.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a robust credit risk management framework, including reviewing existing frameworks and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Produce key reports and management information, such as KRI, CD KPI, and condition & instruction management.
  • Provide practical solutions and guidance to staff regarding the application of credit policies and rules.
  • Manage system change projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct training sessions for risk functions across the bank, ensuring a thorough understanding of the Credit Risk Management Framework.
  • Analyse risk events and complaints, conducting root cause analyses and proposing improvements.
  • Ensure the implementation of written policies and procedures with appropriate governance.
  • Work closely with other teams and functions to identify and monitor controls effectively.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Strong understanding of Credit Risk Policy, Rules, and Procedures, particularly in the areas of credit risk models and general Front Office operations.
  • Previous experience in the financial industry with exposure to operational risk processes.
  • Business level proficiency in Japanese is required.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, and Power BI. Knowledge of SQL is advantageous.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
