Build Assurance Engineer Contract

A Build Engineer with strong experience of telecoms rollouts is needed to join a leading fibre-to-the-premises, open access broadband provider. You will be a proven build engineer with a hands-on approach to the delivery of FTTP projects.

Description

The Build Assurance Engineer (Contract) will be responsible for areas including, but not limited to:

  • Coach, mentor and support our build partner, ensuring any risk to the plan is escalated to the Build Manager.
  • Updates daily/weekly reports and analyses against the project delivery timescales with the Build Manager
  • Ensure all post installation and as-builts are completed, verified in accordance with the conditions of the project and Freedom Fibre as-built standards.
  • Consult with LAs, Utilities companies and the Highways on behalf of Freedom Fibre to coordinate all project deliverables.
  • Ensure or principal suppliers all relevant Risk Assessment and Method Statements in place prior to work commence and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Deputise for the Build Manager at Local Authority/Contractor and Highways meetings
  • Audit inspections in line with Freedom Fibre KPI Metrics on supplier Street Work

Profile

The Build Engineer will be an integral part of a small team of employees and sub-contractors, taking responsibility for all build day to day activities to deliver fibre to the premise. In addition to the delivery programme, you will have a track record of supervising utilities, be NRWSA qualified with highways experience.

You will use your skills to oversee both civils and fibre construction deliverables, ensuring that our supplier is carrying out site activities on time, to our client's specification in parallel with Quality, Compliance, Health & Safety and Environmental guidelines.

You will need the passion to succeed, self-motivated, as well as an excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate and mitigate project risk.

The Build Assurance Engineer (Contract) will be able to demonstrate competencies including, but not limited to:

  • Highly motivated, flexible, and adaptable nature
  • Confident, driven and a dynamic leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • OSP Telecoms FTTP Build Experience
  • Understanding of the New Roads and Works Act (1991) - NRSWA)
  • Working knowledge of CDM
  • Fibre Optics Splicing and OTDR/IM Testing principles and experience.
  • Experience of Blown and traditional cable installation techniques
  • An understanding of method statements and risk assessments
  • Experience of manging contracted engineering construction works
