AP/AR Finance Manager FTC

Contract Personnel are on the lookout for an AP/AR Finance Manager based in Asford, Kent, to join their busy Accounts team on a fixed term contract until the end of March 2025.

Responsibilities & Expertise

You will be responsible for the purchase and sales ledger duties for both the parent client and one of its subsidiary companies.

Sales Ledger:

  • Responsible for credit control function and minimising customer debt.
  • Liaising with the Sales Team where necessary and keeping them informed of those customer accounts which will shortly be out of terms, then advising on necessary actions to be taken.
  • Ensuring customer payments are processed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner; including cash book completion for month end close down.
  • Make sure that all customer accounts are reconciled and that monthly statements are sent out.
  • Ensure that customer queries due to shortages and prices are resolved.
  • Involved in the month end closure and reconciling the ledger to the nominal accounts.
  • Confirming information on customer credit application forms and running credit score reports
  • Prepare balance and turnover reports for the Group to be completed and submitted within agreed timescales.

Purchase Ledger:

  • The role will involve receiving and recording invoices onto our company software in a timely manner in order to avoid late payment
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders
  • Reconciling the purchase ledger to the nominal ledger on a monthly basis and producing month end reports
  • Preparing weekly supplier payment files in GBP, EUR, and USD for submission to the Treasury department
  • Inform the Cost Accountant of upcoming cashflow requirements
  • Reconcile supplier and intercompany balances on a monthly basis to strict deadlines

Qualifications and Experience

Computer literate with a strong focus and working knowledge of Excel.

A minimum of 5 years AP/AR Ledger experience is essential

Experience of working within a team and managing staff.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8am - to 5pm

Salary for this role is up to £40,000k depending on experience, plus a retention bonus paid upon completion of the contract. ** There will be a clause written into the contract regarding this
