Are you a skilled Design Manager with expertise in AutoCAD and Inventor? Join a team at a leading foundry equipment manufacturer in South Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a niche market where the machines are exported worldwide.

They are a small but dynamic team, dedicated to designing and manufacturing top-tier foundry equipment. This opportunity has arisen due to an increase in market demand, offering the chance to develop both new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all design activities from concept through to production validation.
  • Ensure the robust design of products in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Investigate design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare project engineering data for new product assemblies and components, including 3D/2D drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
  • Liaise with customers on new projects to ensure designs meet and exceed their requirements, contributing to sales growth and market share.

Requirements:

  • HND/Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical or Product Design.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty mechanical engineering principles and product design processes.
  • At least 10 years' experience in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in a senior role within your current or previous employment.
  • Experience with machinery automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics is advantageous.
