Position: Learning Mentor
Location: Chelsea and Kensington, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to SEND students, helping them to stay engaged and succeed in their studies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with students, focusing on both academic skills and emotional well-being.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care needs, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to each student's education.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to meet evolving needs.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with SEND students, with a solid understanding of their academic and pastoral needs.
  • Background in de-escalation techniques and experience managing challenging behaviours.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting the overall development of students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care when required.
