Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to SEND students, helping them to stay engaged and succeed in their studies.
- Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
- Work one-to-one or in small groups with students, focusing on both academic skills and emotional well-being.
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Support students with personal care needs, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to each student's education.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to meet evolving needs.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with SEND students, with a solid understanding of their academic and pastoral needs.
- Background in de-escalation techniques and experience managing challenging behaviours.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting the overall development of students.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to assist with personal care when required.
