As our Senior Planning Officer (Enforcement), you will play a crucial role in driving forward our enforcement initiatives, maintaining the integrity of council planning decisions and the credibility of the national planning system.

Your responsibilities will include investigating and resolving complex planning enforcement issues, as well as related planning applications and planning and enforcement appeals. You will conduct regular site visits, and as a senior member of the team support the Team Leader in mentoring junior colleagues.

You should possess a keen enthusiasm for this area of the planning profession and have the ability to work autonomously. You will enjoy tackling a range of situations head-on and seeing matters through to resolution.

In order to thrive in this position, you must possess the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals and organisations. The ideal candidate for this role will be resilient and able to remain composed under pressure. We are particularly eager to recruit someone who is enthusiastic and possesses strong interpersonal skills. This position is best suited for a problem-solver with excellent negotiation abilities.

You will be part of a large, successful team with a supported by in-house expertise in specialised areas including litigation, drainage, heritage and ecology.

The Key Requirements...

  • Minimum of three years' experience at a senior level, dealing with complex enforcement matters
  • Degree in Planning or equivalent qualification in a related field
