This role involves planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet each student's unique needs, helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support student learning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Promote social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Ensure that every student is supported in reaching their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or specialization in SEN.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various special educational needs and adaptable teaching methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities for all students.
  • Familiarity with relevant SEN frameworks and legislation (e.g., EHCPs).
  • Ability to commute to Luton.
