Job Profile - Air Freight Forwarder

Streamline Search are currently recruiting for a Freight Forwarder to join our client's dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in air and sea freight forwarding, coupled with a solid understanding of customs regulations and procedures. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Air Freight Forwarder - Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end process of air and sea freight forwarding, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, and other logistics providers to secure optimal rates and schedules.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, and freight invoices.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with international customs regulations and requirements.
  • Liaise with customs brokers and agents to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
  • Prepare and submit necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations and duty payments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues or concerns related to freight forwarding.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific logistics needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Provide clients with regular updates on shipment status and proactively resolve any potential delays or disruptions.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any logistical challenges that may arise.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including warehousing and distribution, to ensure seamless coordination of logistics activities.
  • Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations, customs procedures, and industry trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling, trade sanctions, and security protocols.
  • Conduct regular audits of freight forwarding processes and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Freight Forwarder - Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding with a focus on air and sea freight.
  • Experience forwarding shipments to Asia, with an understanding of AFR.
  • Demonstrated experience in customs procedures and regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing complex international logistics operations.
  • Experience managing a small team of operators and clerks.

Freight Forwarder - Remunerations

  • £35,000 - £40,000
  • Mon - Fri 8:30 - 18:00
  • Company pension
