Van Driver

Reed is representing a client in search of a dedicated and experienced Van Driver to join their team. The successful candidate will be integral to the Procurement Team, managing stock levels, ensuring timely delivery of supplies, and aiding in the enhancement of store processes. This role is suited to a highly motivated individual with excellent IT skills and a strong work ethic.
Day to Day of the role:
- Efficient and safe transportation of goods and materials to various locations.
- Communication with store operatives, site engineers, office staff, and the procurement manager regarding stock.
- Execution of pre-planned site clearances, with support for lifting materials as needed.
- Collection and return of goods from supply chains, securing the appropriate paperwork.
- Coordination with engineers to establish delivery times.
- Contribution to general store tasks to effectively manage stock levels.
- Adherence to the Company's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies.
- Operation of a van, including loading and unloading cargo, route planning, and compliance with traffic laws.
- Maintenance of accurate delivery records, including receipts and signatures.
- Effective communication with customers and colleagues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years.
- Strong communication skills and a robust work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and the capacity to manage a heavy workload.
- IT literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach to improving daily working practices.
- Experience in the plumbing merchant industry is beneficial but not essential.
