We are currently recruiting for a
Head of Communications and Marketing
to join a forward-thinking housing organisation that supports thousands of residents and communities. This is a pivotal role at the heart of the organisation's leadership team, responsible for crafting and delivering impactful communications strategies that connect with residents, staff, partners, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and delivery of integrated communication and marketing plans.
- Oversee corporate communications, PR, stakeholder relations, internal communications, and media management.
- Work in partnership with senior leaders to ensure communications activities support business priorities and reflect the organisation's vision and values.
- Enhance digital engagement through modern channels and tools, driving channel shift where appropriate.
- Develop brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all communication outputs.
- Manage crisis and reputation management, acting as the senior comms contact for critical issues.
- Provide expert leadership to a high-performing communications team, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
- Commission and manage external agencies and suppliers as needed to support strategic goals.
- Analyse communication effectiveness, reporting on KPIs and impact.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Significant experience in a senior communications or marketing leadership role, ideally within housing, public sector or charity settings.
- A strong track record of developing and implementing long-term, integrated strategies aligned with business goals.
- Experience leading teams and managing complex projects, budgets and relationships.
- Proven expertise in digital engagement and content strategy, with an understanding of user-centred design and accessibility.
- Demonstrable ability to write and edit high-quality content across multiple formats and for different audiences.
- Excellent influencing, collaboration and leadership skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Professional communications/marketing qualification (e.g. CIPR, CIM or equivalent).
- Experience managing reputational risk, crisis communications and media enquiries.
