Our client, an established, top tier and extremely highly regarded Lloyd's syndicate, is currently looking for a Senior Marine Claims Adjuster.

The successful candidate will manage the syndicate's lead and follow US and International Marine Hull, Cargo and Liability claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling a portfolio of US and International Marine Hull, Cargo and Liability Claims.
  • Providing technical guidance and cover to other team members.
  • Negotiating and liaising with clients, Brokers, Loss Adjusters and Lawyers, undertaking overseas travel where necessary.
  • Attending market meetings.
  • Working on accurate and timely case reserving as an important feed into the reserving process.
  • Providing Underwriters with feedback on claims issues, wordings and related risk information.
  • Attending internal class reserve meetings with the Underwriting and Actuarial teams.
  • Liaising with external Claims Administrators, potentially carrying out claims and procedural audits.
  • Reviewing and considering the interpretation of policy wordings with Underwriters.

Key Requirements

  • 5-8 years experience of managing Marine Claims is essential, ideally within a Lloyd's syndicate.
  • Binder and bordereaux management experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be Degree qualified with a 2:1 classification as a minimum.
  • Must be part or fully ACII qualified.
