About the Role
Are you a fitness enthusiast with a passion for guiding others towards their wellness goals? Southwark Leisure is looking for energetic and inspiring Group Exercise Instructors to join our team. We offer two types of roles, each catering to distinct areas of fitness:
Active Classes: These roles are perfect for those who thrive on high-energy workouts. You will lead classes such as Zumba, Kettlebells, Leg Bums and Tums, Les Mills Body Pump, Les Mills Combat/Attack, Les Mills Shapes/Core, and Les Mills Barre. Your sessions will be designed to motivate participants, ensuring a fun and effective workout experience.
Holistic Classes: For those who specialize in mind-body wellness, we offer positions teaching Yoga, Pilates, and Les Mills Body Balance. You'll create a calm and supportive environment, helping participants enhance their flexibility, strength, and mental wellbeing.
In both roles, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging classes that cater to the diverse needs of our customers. This includes managing class logistics, from equipment setup to participant registration, and ensuring every session starts on time. You'll keep abreast of the latest fitness trends and safety protocols, continually enhancing your classes with innovative ideas.
Salary Details:
- Active Classes: £29.33 per hour
- Holistic Classes: £35.19 per hour

About You:
To succeed in this role, you should be a passionate and versatile fitness professional with the following qualifications and attributes:
- REPS/CIMSPA Level 2 in Fitness/Exercise to Music and specific qualifications relevant to the classes you will be teaching.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality group exercise classes and working in a customer-facing environment.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to listen, provide constructive feedback, and quickly establish trust and rapport with participants. You should be adept at motivating and inspiring a diverse clientele.
- Willingness to adapt your schedule to meet the varied needs of our customers, including the availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- A strong understanding and commitment to the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy, actively promoting inclusivity and diversity within your classes.
