An established organisation in the retail sector have recently approached Mitchell Adam for assistance with their search for a talented Assistant Accountant to join their team in Birmingham. The organisation has seen some a fantastic period of growth in the last decade and are looking to continue the development of their finance team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be included in discussions and duties at month end and you will gain some exposure to senior responsibilities during your time at this organisation. As an Assistant Accountant, you will see yourself develop to become an integral part of the finance function. Your pathway for progression will become clear, as in your role you will gain exposure to senior responsibilities. You will gain some significant exposure when working side by side with senior management, who will always look for ways to help you gain hands on experience. Initially your duties will involve posting journals and completing reconciliations. This will lead to working on the P&L, and completing complex and comprehensive variance analysis. Skills Required

  • To be currently studying your ACCA or CIMA qualification, or to already have a strong level of existing experience working as an Assistant Accountant.
  • To have experience posting journals such as accruals or prepayments, and to have experience completing reconciliations on the balance sheet and bank.
  • This is a position where you will have the opportunity to progress, however this requires an ability to be outgoing and confident, as you will be working closely with senior management.
