Salary: Up to £36,036 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Role:

We are seeking to appoint an Engineering Centre Workshop Manager to lead the Engineering Workshop Team (Instructors/Tutors) and deliver operational excellence through the effective management of the Centre. The successful postholder will support the Engineering Delivery Manager with the day-to-day management including people management, quality of delivery, apprentice/learner experience and funding/quality compliance in accordance with departmental and wider business objectives.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject area or relevant industry experience
  • GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above
  • Level 3 (or above) teaching qualification
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeships and Apprenticeship standards
  • Proven success in improving Apprenticeship performance and retention rates
  • Experience of leading a team with the ability to mentor and coach
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Email and Teams
  • Experience of budget management
  • Ability to deliver operational business plans and disseminate statistical business and performance data
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills
  • Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to staff, Apprentices/Learners, employers and external organisations
