Associate Accounting

About the role

Financial Management department is in charge of planning, organising, directing and controlling the financial activities of the Bank. The department performs a variety of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting, fixed asset and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting, treasury (asset and liability management) and capital management. As an Associate - Accounting, you will be responsible to support the department's accounting operations function and assist with improvement of accounting processes and controls. You will also collaborate with senior team members to successfully drive and implement procedural changes. This is a 12 month fixed term contract position.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and take ownership of reconciliation tasks
  • Assist with daily journal entry tasks
  • Review vouchers and journal entries
  • Support with month-end and year-end accounting tasks
  • Provide ad-hoc support in the delivery of the department's functionality for Head Office, Management and all the Bank's departments

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or other equivalent
  • Experience in accounting and reporting
  • Knowledge and experience in financial products and services
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
