We are currently looking for an Investigations Officer to join our GCAT team. If you have a Professional qualification relevant to the role specification and experience of work conducted by Institute members/firms then this may be the role and team for you.

Role Profile

To provide a responsive, professional interface with members and the public to ensure that investigations are conducted to a consistently high standard, in a professional manner and in accordance with ICAEW policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Investigate potential disciplinary complaints to conclusion including obtaining information from relevant parties and drafting a written report on your findings if necessary.
  • Manage your own investigation caseload and take personal responsibility at various stages for the progress through to conclusion of cases, including answering correspondence and telephone enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure high standards of reporting are maintained to provide internal/external stakeholders (eg committees, members, the public, other regulators) with an accurate and balanced view of the outcomes.
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective systems and procedures to support casework including providing regular updates and feedback on own casework as required.
  • Prepare work for consideration by Committees and assist the Committee and Tribunals team to support and monitor the work of the Committees to ensure effective discharge of their responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

Requirements include:

  • A good grasp of all relevant legislation in area of expertise.
  • Sound knowledge of the ICAEW's Bye-Laws, regulations and ethical guidance.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Professional qualification relevant to the role specification and experience of work conducted by Institute members/firms.
