Our client, a well-established tool and machinery hire company, is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant to join their dynamic team in West Lothian. The day to day tasks will include everything from meeting and greeting customers to picking stock from their stores. You'll be updating client's purchases in their accounts on the company in house system as well as advising them on products, services and machinery for hire that's relevant to their business. Manual handling is a large part of this role, assisting with the lifting of machinery so being physically fit is a must for candidate's own health and well being.

What you'll bring:

  • An excellent level of customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • A proven ability to build rapport with customers and proactively generate sales.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring products are correctly priced and the display is well-organised.
  • Experience with computerised tills and cash handling.
  • A proactive attitude towards stock management, including organising the stock room and replenishing designated areas.
  • Must have a good knowledge of machines and tools
