QA Test Analyst
£35K- £40K
Liverpool (Hybrid 2-3 days on site)
A QA Analyst is required for our client who is based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will work primarily with packaged software configured to suit the client's requirements. You will work alongside the wider project team and external software providers from project initiation to completion, developing a detailed knowledge of the solution and requirements which in turn, allows you to support the project through functional testing, UAT and project launch. You will also be able to underpin the wider delivery functions such as training, and post go live support.
Key responsibilities:
- Analysis – Working with the BA team to fully understand the business requirements to ensure testing plans are fit for purpose
- Documentation – Written test plans and drawing up of test scripts
- Estimating & Planning – Working with the Project Managers to agree scope and timelines for testing
- Testing – Execution of system testing of new and existing systems
- Automation – Ability to use testing automation software (preferably SmartBear)
- Issue Management – Rigorous record keeping of issues and tracking to conclusion
- Business Acceptance Testing and User Training – supporting the Project Management and Training Teams in the delivery of both elements
- Post launch support – supporting business users during rollout and handing over to Service Desk
- Strategy development – working with colleagues to develop the testing strategy for the team
Skills required:
Essential:
- Experience of writing and executing detailed test scripts
- Experience of working with integrated software and APIs
- Experience of working with external solution providers
- Experience of estimating, planning and scope management around testing
- Experience of working with release management and regression testing
- Experience of working with Change Control within a project
- Experience in working with SQL
- Experience in working with XML
- Experience of working with data migration projects
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Experience of working with internal stakeholders at all levels and managing external suppliers
- Experience of working with Jira software for testing purposes
- Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the legal sector
- Experience of working with other software such as Postman / TFS
- Experience of testing cloud-based solutions
- Experience of working with PowerBI / SSRS
- Experience of working with Financial Systems such as Aderant
