Role Overview:

Sanderson are working with a major client who are looking for a Project Manager. This role is an ideal gateway into wider opportunities within a major global IT company. It would be well suited to those who have an interest in IT but may not have had the opportunity to work in the sector, or those looking for the opportunity to gain further experience. You will be expected to work to a professional standard and ensure customer satisfaction through technical skills and strong customer service.

Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to deliver COMPANY's MRO (materials, repairs and operations) project under the P&C Digital Transformation Programme. The role requires a close working relationship with Corporate IT and relevant product owners to deliver end to end management of the project, including but not limited to RAID, communications, budgets and ROI playback. Full engagement with business stakeholders & delivery partners will be essential to develop excellent working relationships, born out of respect and trust and gained through demonstrating competence at all levels of project delivery.

Programme/Project Delivery:

Work with Transformation team to plan, organise and deliver the MRO project. Work collaboratively with Corporate IT to deliver solutions using agile methods, where possible. Ensure interdependencies, risks and priorities are clearly understood and managed. Deploy clear and effective change management workstream by project, making use of different communication channels.

Governance:

Governance frameworks must be clearly deployed, reporting into the P&C Digital Programme. Full management of project budget, including third party cost management, from discovery to post delivery is essential; the candidate must set up strong financial controls and measures that allows visibility of all project expenditure and enables easy interrogation of costs at any time. Management and reporting of RAID from working group to executive updates is essential.

Planning:

Executing effective discovery stages is critical in ensuring the programme focuses on the correct initiatives. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end discovery, including project planning, budget/resource forecasting and business case modelling.

Change Management:

The Digital Programme aims to transform Procurement & Commerical end to end. Consequently, this creates a diverse group of initiatives impacting a range of stakeholders across COMPANY. Its is therefore essential to deploy tight change management controls across each project, ensuring stakeholders are a core part of the team from design to deployment.

Communication:

Communicating change regularly and clearly is critial to the programme's success. This role requires full management of a communcations plan, making use of the different mediums available across the directorites. The candidate will work closely with key Business Reps to ensure messages are tailored to suit the needs of different stakeholder groups. Clear and succint project updates are required to facilitate briefings across the directorite, incuding weekly reviews with the Programme Head.

Stakeholder Management:

Effectively managing a diverse group of stakeholders, both customers and enablers, is essential in the successful deployment of digital projects. Candidate must have the ability to readily influence all stakeholders both internally and externally through developing trust, demonstrating confidence, being alert to their needs and listening to and acting on their concerns.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Business Knowledge:

  • Someone who has excelled in Digital programme delivery within a challenging, dynamic, business environment.
  • Clear track record of leading & delivering transformation and change projects, including leading value streams and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing customers effectively, including a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of financial controls and governance.
  • Understanding of agile governance process and requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of planning and managing multi-million-pound budgets.
  • Knowledge of business change to transform delivery into a customer focused business and centre of excellence.

Essential Job Specific Skills and Experiences:

  • Hold a relevant programme management qualification.
  • Proven delivery experience in Complex IT change and digital transformation.
  • Able to influence positive behavioural change across diverse teams.
  • Effective communicator with experience of raising awareness and educating others.
  • Experience in risk management, with ability to clearly articulate key project delivery risks, with cause effect and consequence on project budget and programme.
  • Able to manage multiple projects/process simultaneously.
  • Proven track record in business improvement.
  • Can demonstrate influencing cultural change.

Functional / Technical Skills:

  • Expert level knowledge in the use of MS Office suite, including PowerPoint and O365 applications.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organisation.
