Are you an experienced media and communications professional with a passion for crafting impactful campaigns? We are seeking a dynamic Senior Media and Communications Officer to join our Strategic Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead proactive media and communication activities, enhancing public awareness and understanding of critical issues in mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver proactive media and communications strategies.
  • Create engaging written, visual, and audio content aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Identify media opportunities and build a network of credible contacts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to raise the profile of mental health issues.
  • Lead storytelling, campaign development, and influencer engagement.
  • Monitor media to identify opportunities and support policy team initiatives.
  • Create content for digital and social media platforms to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Manage media and content evaluations, reporting, and feedback.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours press office rota.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in journalism or active media work with public relations/press experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and good news sense.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in drafting accurate press releases and written materials.
  • Knowledge of media distribution tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in creating media and communications strategies for proactive campaigns.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their use in media campaigns.
